Short answer: mobile data issues may still occur in Russia, especially at airports and near railway stations. In some areas, your phone may register on a local network and show signal bars, but mobile internet may still be unavailable due to local mobile internet restrictions. 4S cannot guarantee reliable service in those affected areas.
Check your 4S eSIM first
- Make sure your 4S eSIM is installed on your phone.
- Select the 4S eSIM line, or the label you chose for it, as your mobile data line.
- Turn on data roaming for that same eSIM line.
- Make sure the plan has started or is ready to activate on first use.
If you receive an operator SMS
You may receive an SMS from the local operator with a link to the operator's official website. Follow the instructions in that SMS if it asks you to verify or remove mobile internet restrictions.
Only use links that are clearly from the mobile operator or the official operator links below. Do not enter payment details or 4S account passwords on unknown pages.
If your phone has no network bars after registration
- Turn Airplane Mode on.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Turn Airplane Mode off.
This may help the phone re-register on the network and restore the connection.
Operator links that may help
- VimpelCom / Beeline: https://balance.beeline.ru/guest
- Tele2: http://unblock.t2.ru/
These links may only work while your phone is connected to the corresponding local mobile network.
If you are connected to Tele2
On Tele2, some international websites and services may be unavailable due to local restrictions. If possible, manually select Beeline instead and test mobile data again.
If it still does not work
- Try moving away from airports, railway stations, or other restricted areas.
- Try manually selecting another available local network.
- Use Wi-Fi where available while local mobile restrictions are in effect.
- Contact 4S support with your location, local network name, screenshots, and whether you received an operator SMS.
