Short answer: yes, if your phone supports Dual SIM, you can usually use your physical SIM and 4S eSIM on the same device.
4S eSIM is data-only. Most customers keep their physical SIM active for calls and SMS, then use the installed 4S eSIM profile for mobile data while traveling.
When your phone asks you to name or label the eSIM during installation, choose a clear label you will recognize later, such as 4S eSIM, your destination country or region, or Travel. If you did not rename it, look for the newly added eSIM, a travel/secondary/business label, or the line that shows No Number.
Recommended setup
- Keep your primary SIM turned on if you need calls or SMS.
- Turn on the eSIM profile you installed for 4S.
- Select that eSIM label as your Mobile Data or Cellular Data line.
- Turn on Data Roaming for that same eSIM line.
To avoid roaming charges from your primary carrier, turn off data roaming for your primary SIM or disable mobile data switching.
