Short answer: it depends on your phone model. Many phones can store multiple eSIM profiles, but only one or two SIMs are usually active at the same time.
Installed vs active
- Installed eSIMs: profiles stored on your device.
- Active eSIMs: profiles currently turned on for calls, texts, or mobile data.
When your phone asks you to name or label the eSIM during installation, choose a clear label you will recognize later, such as 4S eSIM, your destination country or region, or Travel. If you did not rename it, look for the newly added eSIM, a travel/secondary/business label, or the line that shows No Number.
How to check your limit
- Check Apple or your Android manufacturer’s official specifications.
- Check your carrier lock status.
- Remove old travel eSIMs only when you are sure you no longer need them.
